Terms of Service

Agreement

These terms are between you and Norvande Ltd, the operator of Kanotion. By creating an account, joining a waitlist, or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

What the service does

Kanotion is a learning platform that helps you learn toward a target, such as a certification, a course, or a professional goal, using material you provide. The service may generate learning paths, lessons, explanations, quizzes, flashcards, review schedules, practice checks, recommended next steps, and other learning outputs from your content and your activity.

Where a target supports it, Kanotion may also show progress and readiness indicators. These are guidance based on your activity in Kanotion. They are not an official score, a qualification, or a prediction of any exam or assessment result.

AI-generated output

Some parts of Kanotion use automated systems and AI. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, unsuitable, or out of date. They are provided as learning aids, not as authoritative sources. You are responsible for checking important information against your original materials and other trusted sources.

Not professional advice

Kanotion does not provide legal, medical, financial, professional, academic accreditation, or exam advice. You should not rely on the service as a substitute for professional guidance, official course requirements, exam boards, institutions, or qualified educators.

Age requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Kanotion. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with the permission of a parent or guardian. By using the service, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Younger users receive the same core learning experience. We apply protective data practices across the service rather than creating a reduced experience based on age. Permission does not give a parent or guardian automatic access to a learner's account or private study content.

Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

We may ask you to verify your email address or take other reasonable steps to protect your account and the wider service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the documents, notes, links, prompts, and other content you submit. By submitting content, you give Norvande Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, analyse, transform, display, and create learning materials from that content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and maintain Kanotion and the features you request.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and process your content.

Subscriptions and payment

Current plans, prices, billing intervals, and any promotion are shown before you confirm checkout. The Free plan needs no payment details. Payment details are required for a paid subscription. The selected paid subscription begins when you confirm checkout, and Stripe charges the payment method you provided at that point.

Monthly plans renew each month and annual plans renew each year until cancelled. Any recurring promotional price or saving applies only as stated at checkout. Stripe processes payments and provides the billing portal used to update payment details, change an available plan, or cancel renewal.

You can cancel renewal at any time through the billing portal. Unless the checkout terms or applicable law say otherwise, access continues until the end of the current paid billing period and no further renewal is charged. A failed payment may result in limited or suspended access after reasonable attempts to resolve it.

Refunds and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, including rights relating to services that are not provided with reasonable care and skill. Statutory cancellation and refund rights can depend on when performance begins and whether you asked for immediate access to digital services. Contact [email protected] if you believe you are entitled to cancel immediately or receive a refund. Any additional refund commitment presented at checkout also forms part of your agreement.

Generated materials

Subject to these terms and any rights in the source materials, you may use learning materials generated for you through Kanotion for your own study and permitted educational purposes. We may use feedback, usage patterns, and non-confidential suggestions to improve and develop the service.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Kanotion to:

Upload, generate, or distribute illegal, harmful, abusive, deceptive, infringing, or malicious content.

Upload content you do not have the right to use, including materials that violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, or academic rules.

Cheat, impersonate others, misrepresent work, or violate the rules of an exam, course, institution, or assessment.

Attempt to access another user's account, content, data, or private areas of the service.

Interfere with, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or abuse the service or its providers.

Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

Service limits and changes

We may apply disclosed plan limits and proportionate rate, storage, feature, or abuse-protection limits to protect the service and keep it available. We will not use undisclosed limits to remove the core benefit of a paid plan. Material plan limits are presented before purchase or where the relevant feature is used. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features as Kanotion evolves, subject to applicable consumer law.

Third party services

Kanotion relies on third party providers for infrastructure, storage, email, AI processing, security, and other services. We are not responsible for events outside our reasonable control, including outages, provider failures, network issues, or changes made by third party providers.

Communications

We may send you service communications such as verification emails, password resets, security notices, account updates, reminders, and learning digests. Marketing communications will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Beta and early access

Some features may be experimental, early access, or in active development. They may change, be unavailable, or produce unexpected results. We may use feedback and usage information to improve the product and shape future learning experiences.

Availability

We aim to provide a useful and reliable service, but we do not guarantee that Kanotion will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times. We may perform maintenance, updates, or emergency changes without notice where needed.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created risk for us or others, abused the service, or where required by law. On termination, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Norvande Ltd and Kanotion will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, loss of data, exam results, educational outcomes, or reliance on generated content. Our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or GBP 50, whichever is greater.

Nothing excluded by law

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Kanotion develops. If a change materially affects an active paid subscription, we will give reasonable advance notice and explain when it takes effect. Where required by law, you will have an opportunity to cancel before the change applies. Changes do not remove rights that arose before their effective date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
